Matthew 25 Ministry
CURRENT AND UPCOMING MATTHEW25 MINISTRY PROJECTS
July 2025 Update
Matthew 25 fulfills the call to serve “the least of these” by donating food to local pantries and providing essential support to families in need. The need is especially urgent during the summer, as many children who depend on school meals face food insecurity. We invite all members of our church family to consider donating to Matthew 25 through Vanco to help keep pantry shelves stocked. This month, Matthew 25 will deliver food items such as eggs, cereal, pasta and sauce, peanut butter, soups, and vegetables to the Seeds of Hope pantry and the Somerton Interfaith pantry. They have notified us of the food items they need most, and we always try to fulfill their requests as best we can.
Your generosity can make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors. Thank you for being the hands, feet, and heart of Christ in our community!

June 2025 Update
We’ve had rain and gray clouds for a month. Instead of feeling down, focus on the positive. Rain brings inspiring things like rainbows, which have biblical significance as signs of God's covenant. When it rains, it pours—good things. We stock our pantry, and a rainbow appears as donations fill it, until the whole rainbow is visible. Can you picture that?
We made a small donation on May 21, 2025, and will deliver it later next week. School is out, food remains expensive, and people need our help during the summer. We will deliver outside our scheduled times. Seeds of Hope will notify us when supplies are low. We arrange for pick-up and delivery within one to two days.
Bright days are ahead as summer arrives. Whatever your plans, bring your sunshine. It's wonderful to be a change-maker. Please remember Matthew 25 during these quieter months. We value your support and appreciate your Vanco donations, which help us fulfill requests more easily.

Memorial Day Update
Did you know May 28th is World Hunger Day? It reminds us that hunger persists every day. As we prepare for Memorial Day and summer barbecues with burgers, sides, and desserts, it's hard to imagine neighbors who smell our food but can't afford to feed their families. That reality is all too real.
Matthew 25 will do its part to deliver supplies to our pantries.
Please support our ministry during the slower summer months. Hunger continues, and we rely on your donations to serve our communities. Our message remains the same, and we continually seek support. Many kids will lose access to free meals as the school year ends, which is heartbreaking. Together, as a parish, we can continue to be difference-makers.
Matthew 25 wishes everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day! We are thankful to all who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for our great country.

May 2025 Update
Christos Anesti!
Wishing you a joyous resurrection!
April was busy delivering meat and eggs to our pantries. We made two trips to Seeds of Hope for shopper rotation. This Lenten season emphasized renewal, humility, and almsgiving. Matthew 25 followed Jesus' call and gave generously. Seeds of Hope thanked us for our Easter meat deliveries, which their shoppers appreciated. Somerton Interfaith also expressed gratitude for our donations. We thank everyone at Annunciation for your support; Matthew 25 is a ministry of Annunciation, serving our parish and God.
In May, we will return to our usual donations of eggs and other requested foods. We're open to providing different foods based on pantry needs. Our relationships with these pantries are seamless; their compassion and respect for their communities uplift us. We love serving them and anticipate a stable partnership. As inflation rises, be mindful of its effects on our communities. If we feel it, our food-insecure neighbors are affected, too, receiving less at markets and pantries. We'll communicate needs and changes as we learn about their challenges.
Enjoy this Bright Week and its glory. As the sun and warm weather return, our hearts are full. Focus on simple pleasures like a walk or the beauty of spring.
